It all began with an #instaguide to becoming an #instadallasite in 2015...

We started sharing our adventures on Instagram one year after moving to Dallas. As transplants, we strive to encourage fellow Dallasites to find a sense of place and joy in Dallas. We do this by sharing our adventures on social media and engaging people through live events with others to encourage them to go beyond their comfort zones and celebrate The Big D with us.

Now we have gone beyond the 'gram by partnering with businesses and individuals that share a passion for Dallas! From an expanded digital and social presence to public events to influencer marketing to public speaking and beyond, we are constantly looking for ways to strength our reach within the community.

We are excited to contribute to shaping a future for Dallas and its people.

Lily & Kara

As two transplants from two coasts, we have immersed ourselves in the culture & community of Dallas and become the Dallasites.

People always ask me where I'm from and for me, that is a hard question to answer. I was raised in Northern California, but traveled 3,181 miles to Waterville, Maine where I studied Economics and Business at  Colby College.

I spent one summer living at an MIT fraternity in Boston and another summer working in a law office in Paris. I studied abroad in Verona and Copenhagen and fell in love with both the Italian and Scandinavian cultures, but ended up in Texas of all places.

So home to me is seven cities, four states and four countries.

My grandma taught me that it is not the what, where, when, why or how - it is the who. This value has driven me to define 'place' by its people. I believe there is great power in a connected community; one that encourages its residents to be change agents who take active roles in creating the city in which they want to live.

I am deeply passionate about realizing others' motivations and purpose. I have found volunteerism to be an inspiring way to learn and grow from people who come from all walks of life. My involvement in Dallas's philanthropic community includes Teach For America, Junior League, Dallas Museum of Art, and Slipper Club.
